I just read the Editor's article on the Green Energy jobs going to Welland.
The Toronto based company hit it right on the head when they said one of the reasons why Welland was chose was because it was "business friendly"
Sure it is ...... it doesn't have a blog and groups of activists that bitch about anything progressive that is it's city, unlike Fort Erie.
These groups have given Fort Erie a black eye with all the negative mediate exposure that they initiate.
As for Sharon's whining about the race track, I can remember VERY WELL her whining about her concern for the employees there and their families when their jobs were in jeopardy.
I mean, this woman will complain about anything. Now she is on Jane Davies butt calling her the town darling, because the train needs restoration. She bitched that other features in the town were not attended to, then when someone tries to attend to one, she bitches about that.
Maybe, just maybe, Fort Erie was a consideration by Oneworld Energy, but were disuaded by the negativism in this town.

I read some things online about the OMB. It's going to take a while before an appeal application goes through the system. There's the waiting period first which hasn't passed yet, then someone has to go through the appeal and see if the complaints are in the jurisdiction of the appeal board.

That email is hilarious. I rember when he lost his seat, he whined and cried that he should be allowed to keep the laptop that the town provided councillors during their term.
Does he really expect that verbal diharrea will get him votes?
I live in Ward Two and everytime someone asks me about the former councillor I will have a copy of this email in my pocket so all can be aware of his wonderful vocabulary.
Richard Berry is perfect example of a Councillor that had his time,had his say and had his seat taken from him.He should move on or move out!

With respect to Marcia's letter to the Town of Fort Erie.
Well, she's doing what she has to do, to try to persuade people to her way of thinking. Her letters. emails are so full of misinformation and innacuracies, that they can be percieved as nothing more than fiction.
She has promoted that 95% of Fort Erie residents are against the development. Her calculations are based on repeat presentations to council by the same persons. Her " online petition" of thousands of people is nothing more than a Facebook group that anybody would sign onto to increase their "friends" list. The people who filed the appeals realize that they have to prove their case. It is highly unusual that such a high number of people appealed to the OMB on one case.

Huh? The moron at work. Thirteen appeals of one zoning decision? The reason there is such a high number is not because the opposition is so strong but because the opposition can't get a dozen people together on the same page. Imagine how much lawyer you can buy with the $125 each they paid to register their appeal. Dumb and dumber.
My take on this Bay Beach topic is that if a disfunctional opposition wants to look formitable,challenge the OMB with as many ridiculous appeals as you can.The typical letter of appeal would be the repetitive views of a very small minority of locals voicing their right for more disfunction,more low property standards and continuing neglect.Long live the present status quo!Long live the cycle of business failures!Rejoice,your beach has been saved from rebirth and prosperity!....Well until the hearings come and go,anyway! I predict in five years, Crystal Beach will look like a real community,full of new inhabitants and a new outlook.The rest of the "Bowers" types,well they will have to move to where they can afford to live,Cambodia,maybe?

Has anyone visited "Crippled Creek"recently?Not exactly pretty is it?For those that know the present Crystal Beach,that term was founded on many grounds of poverty,disfunction and so on.This sad part of the Region has been the butt of many jokes for years.Unfortunately, the proud?, residents there don't know how to improve themselves.It finally took some fortitude from Town Hall to rectify the situation.Appeal after appeal is sounding like these poor souls are just going down kicking and screaming all the way to IMPROVEMENT and RESPECTABILITY!

The beach is NOT for the residents of Fort Erie. It is for the summer residents.
Let them and the entire Crystal Beach community keep the beach. That's what they want, let them have it. As is being promoted by the opponents to the project, the entire community does not any change to "their" beach. So let them have it.
Next time the Fort Erie council comes up with a more exciting proposal for the town which they will ultimately object to, we can just tell them to shut the f&%k up as we already gave them what they want. A beach, that will remain as derelict as the rest of Crystal Beach for decades to come.
I agree .... let them have their beach. Even when they had their say on the Buffalo Rising webside, the people there posting agreed with the proposal citing that the condition of the beach is deplorable.
But I would go one further. Seeing that they are soooo concerned about the Fowlers Toad, a protected species, the Ministry of Natural Resources should shut the beach down completely and make it a protected habitat.
I mean, the toads are poisonous, and a pet dog or young child could get some of the protective poison on them, lick it and become seriously ill, or die.
Shut the whole damn beach down, let them have their view. I doubt if any of the old whiners go to the beach anyway. Shut it down, let the algie rot, washed up dead fish rot, then it will match the rest of Crystal Beach.
The town has put a lot of money into Crystal Beach and the residents don't give a shit. They are doing exactly what they said they were going to do when they first bought the property, and the development is on the parking lot and not the beach.
Say goodbye to a sanitary washroom and changerooms, say goodbye to a paved walway where everyone, especially those with disabilities can enjoy the beach. Say goodbye to progress. I hope Crystal Beach rots even further through the next decade ....... that's what they deserve.

After 24 hours of it NOT being accepted, I was curious as to whether it was REJECTED or she was away from her computor.
So I posted:
"One thing you can count of ...... if there is any kind of corruption in this town, you will find the mayors involvement in there somewhere."
And it was ACCEPTED within 5 minutes.
First of all, I want to retract that statement as it was only posted in an effort to determine if the Editor was indeed rejecting posts which do not align with her agenda, and only accept those that do.
God only knows how many others were rejected.
Again, my initial post presented the TRUTH. Something that she cannot or will not accept.

As far as I know, the Concession Road exit ramp is being taken out, not repaired.
It seems that Rich's deal for the expansion left the building to close to the Highway i.e. the ramp.
Its not needed because the traffic was meant to use the newer area around the tourist centre. Safer that way. No American bingo nuts to pull u-turns in front of you on concession anymore.
Hagy street to be extended (maybe) for the trucks comming out of Rich's.
This has been in the books for many years.
The temproary closing....printed that way for Sharon.....that way she can bitch and try and use for the downfall of Fort Erie caused by the present council.
I think everybody is missing the real important question ..... what is this "business enterprise" the Stench Queen is apparently involved in and who are her partners? I'm sure she could use all the publicity she can get.
