No. We're Anti-Bowers.

The UnaBlogger wrote this:

"Anti-American sentiment has already reared its ugly head on other blogs. This is hate mongering and it not (sic) to be tolerated. Those who do print such anti-American screed might find that their blogs will come under scrutiny for fostering anti-Americanism."

Oh oh, we're under "scrutiny" again. We better scatter. What's next? The Marines? They already took our beaches. We don't have to worry. We don't have any oil.

The ediror has made an accusation of anti-american sentiments being posted.

She would NOT accept my post stating that " I believe you are confusing PRO-CANADIANISM with anti-americanism"

A simple post, not out of line.

So let me expand on it a bit.

Right now, the United States of America is basically holding international air travel hostage.

The United States of America finds it necessary to approve the passenger list of ALL flights, regardless of their country of departure or destination that are flying to or over the United States.

Why? ....... I think you know the answer.

And I have to get one more thing off of my chest. They attacked us in 1812.

Oh, and ..... they had a civil war. What was it over ....... the right to OWN another human being.

Canadian too have the right to bear arms. They are attached to our shoulders, and damn it, we will roll up our sleeves and give a pummeling to ANYONE that tries to infringe on our rights and tell us what to do in OUR own country.

"WE STAND ON GUARD FOR THEE"

Oh, and by the way, you've got a grammatical error in your write up Sharon. You should be rideculing yourself.

Has anyone ever noticed that UnaBlogger is against the racetrack deal because it was the spending of public money for the benefit of a "foreign" billionaire (and many hundreds of jobs), but comes to the defence of foreigners who want the government to spend millions of dollars on the beach so they can protect their financial investments, and no jobs.

Do any of those Americans understand why Canadian taxes are so high? So that it can pay for crap like washrooms and stuff on the beaches. They want the Town to get grants for their splash pads and other things. Grants are funded by taxes, not property taxes, but income taxes. My income taxes. They want me to pay more so they can have their little piece of heaven in my country for a couple of months in the summer.

Without the racetrack, there would have been no slot machines. Without the slot machines, no money for the town. No money, no beach. No beach, no Bowers "screed". God I hate that racetrack.

"screed" now there's a crossword puzzle word for you or is that what the teacher scrawled over her paper at cornell

I think we all have to heed Mike Cloutier's comments on the previous thread. Stop before someone gets hurt.

I am sure that we can all realize the obvious as to which nationalities are posting for and against this project.

Of recent, we have had a car vandalized and a death threat left on a windshield. This cannot be tolerated.

The perps of these actions could have easily been hiding in a bush somewhere, and still could some day.

Just yesterday, an individual travelled across the country for 2 weeks extremely heavily armed to shoot up a government building. There's the Washington D.C. sniper, there's Terry McVay.

And here we are communicating with an admitted disfunctioned person.

Think about it.

Anonymous said...

I agree .... that's a good call Anonymous poster of 12:54

Especially considering that police intervention was required to control a speaker in opposition to the project.

I gotta tell you ...... well said Mighty Mouth.

I remember when you posted that before, infact, I went to the CARS website and yup, it's still there.

What's worse, they even show the website where they got it from.

It is : http://bannascarnow.com/

Now any organization with ANY bit of intelligence would check out their source of information. This guy is a JOKE and they are using it as factual.

You have to visit the site for afew minutes of comedic releif if nothing else. He actually blames Nascar racing for 9/11.

Or did you know that "It’s already been statistically verified that a favorite driver winning a race leads to an increase in birth rates among unmarried couples"

And when you check out his "Nascar Factoids" page it is even more hilarious.

AND THIS IS WHERE CARS GETS THEIR STATISTICS !!!!

And the FOCB are no better. Check out their current site: http://www.focb.net/

I'm sorry but I didn't realize that the Bay Beach Project was such a big deal that it actually got reported in the Daytona Beach News-Journal in Florida.

So don't try to tell me that this is NOT an american / Canadian issue

I am appalled that the Unablogger has decided to play the Anti American card.

She's confused. We have stunned the world who thought Canada was just a country of polite, charming people who live in igloos and go to work using dog sleds.

Not only did we SURPASS expectations in the Olympics, we showed an unprecedented, even American level of pride in our Country. This level of national pride is now out of the bottle, and won't be put back anytime soon.

This summer, you will see more Canadian flags on houses, a bigger than ever Canada day celebration, and people actually being vocal about their homeland.

We accept ANYONE who moves here. Even the Unablogger. We ask that you become a citizen if you want rights to vote, but that's about it.

I don't believe that, not matter WHERE you come from, you have the right to keep MY town a depressed one horse town for your own agenda. Showing up for a couple months does NOT give you the right to tell me that I can't look forward to enjoying growth and opportunities here.

The big problem here is the word taxes. There are TWO kinds of taxes: Income and Property. Property taxes go to providing water, sewer, police and road clearing services. Income taxes are what you pay to allow the governments to function. Paying income taxes is what gives you a say in how your town, where you live most of the time. If I owned a cottage in the Hamptons, I wouldn't expect that I would have any say on how they conduct their business. Even if it included my view, or my perception of what was right. For that matter, the fact that it was in the states wouldn't allow me the luxury of having a say AT ALL.

I'm rambling a bit, but I'm trying to say what I have to say without emotion or the hatred of someone clouding the issue.

I think the point I have to say is this.

You don't want a 12 story tower in your sleepy little cottage town you visit. Fine. Sell your cottage and buy one somewhere else.

You don't want this beach to turn into "Miami Beach North". So? I do. And since I live here full time, my say weighs more than yours.

You don't want the towers, but you live here full time? Fine. You get a say. BUT, you do need to realize the fact that change and progress are inevitable. At least, this way, we can get benefits out of the change and help control it. If a developer buys the property adjacent to it, and decides to put up a 12 story tower, there will be NO amenities, and nothing we can do about that fact.

At least the new legislation automatically reverts ANY private beaches to town control (making them PUBLIC) whenever an application to rezone is made. (IMHO, that should be upgraded to anytime a property is SOLD)

I just can't see the downside here.

It's unbelievable ..... F&#%ING UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!

Everywhere you turn, on this Bay Beach Issue ..... the American influence pops up.

I was just reading the FOCB website and an unfamiliar phrase concerned me. The phrase is in this sentence.

Quote: "A Hometown Democracy Amendment would require a referendum anytime a city/town changes its master plan"

So I used my preferred search engine, searching the phrase " Hometown Democracy Amendment ". and this is what I came up with:

http://metacrawler.com/metacrawler/ws/results/Web/Hometown%20Democracy%20Amendment/1/417/TopNavigation/Relevance/iq=true/zoom=off/_iceUrlFlag=7?_IceUrl=true

Copy and paste it. Every FUCKING link is to FLORIDA. Put that together with the article printed in the Daytona Beach News-Journal, and there you got it.

THIS IS FUCKING CANADIAN PROPERTY !!!!

And we have a bunch of asshole Americans telling us what to do with it.

Let's hope when this goes to OMB, everyone's lawyers will know something about Canadian law.

Anonymous said...

That's rich .... all they know to do is sue ....sue ....sue ....

Anonymous said...

Isn't it ironic the people hired by the opposition to appeal the decision at the OMB, are ones that won a case at the same OMB for a developer.I guess they will find faults in their own arguements they fought previously. There is a 13 point litmus test, that is for sure,it starts with cash and ends with cash.

Canuck said...

I've taken down a couple of posts about the Florida homeowners just because they are so long and I really can't follow them. The point is taken and understood that the references are to issues in Florida and have no bearing on Crystal Beach. The point that the U.S. cottage owners are trying to invoke precedents from Florida is also understood. So don't be upset that they've been removed.

Anonymous said...

Canuck,

I presented the posts which reflected the phrase which was indicative to the terminoligy used, as per the search, exclusive to that of the judicial process in the state of Florida.

I totally understand the confusion of the "pasted" links, but, one has to realize that these contests against our sovereign country are coming from Virginia, Florida,.... too upset to write more.

I WILL defend our country from OPRESSION.

Canuck said...

Yes, that is understood. I removed them just because people can follow the link you gave in the earlier post. If they can't follow that link, they won't be able to follow all the other ones. They're all in the States, understood.

I am an American living in this fine country for 21 years. I pay both property & income tax and every other tax that a Canadian citizen pays. I am for the Bay Beach Development and I hate the other blog and the whack jobs that agree with it. Please try to tone down the Anti-American comments as it is getting harder for me to come back.

Anonymous said...

I posted this to the Strand, but I doubt it will be posted.

I'm not sure who gave you the idea that the OMB will side with you and your idea of public opinion. The OMB could give a rats ass about public opinion. They simply look at the situation, decide whether it violates any bylaws, or the Town's official plan.

They couldn't care less if it's popular, just if it's legal.

I'm sorry that it seems that people are venting against americans. It is not in our nature to disrespect anyone.Although if we were to be judged as anti-american,it is simple. The anti-beach access,anti-government,anti-growth is supported by the likes of summer residents that e-mail Sharon Bowers to be informed(I use the word "informed" very loosely) and write editorials in the post, that depict our rights as less important than the few that own our waterfront all across Fort Erie. The facts expressed by the likes of Marcia Carolyn and others are also distorted to suit their opinions.By the way, if we are not happy with our elected officials,it will be up to us to replace them not afew disgruntled non-Canadians,thank you very much!

Anonymous said...

Absolutely right. I would rather vote for the development rather than have someone like Noyes represent my interests on the hundreds of other issues over the next four years. She can flip and flop all over the place for all I care, but not in the mayor's chair.

Anonymous said...

Absolutely right! Bang on! To vote for Noyes as Mayor would be the worst catastrophe Fort Erie would face.We would be in the stone age before Christmas.Imagine if this present council didn't opt to inprove infrastructure this past budget year. The other layers of government would not have matched the funds council put aside.By the way check the record,Noyes was against it all the way to Florida and back, last year.It must have been when she met Mickey Mouse, that she decided to turn her back on us in Bay Beach. Thanks Noyes for protecting our beach access rights!Vote NO for NOYES! After all Bowels and her herd are already endorsing her as Mayor. What better reason to look the other way.I guess Martin is still a safe vote! At least he gets it!! No private beaches for you,BOWELS!!!

Anonymous said...

I nearly fell off my chair laughing when I read the UnaBlogger's statement " You have your opinion and all you want to do is tear down my opinion."

That was in response to a poster's comment "So the CBTYC failed to help (in your opinion) because it denied access to the beach. The Molinaro project does not deny access to the beach. So why do you keep bringing up "issue-clouding" nonsense?"

Does she not realize what she writes.

For years SHE has torn apart other peoples opinions if she accepts them at all.

I truely think she is on a downward spiral and from all of the fantacies, fiction and lies that she has written, she doesn't know the truth from the lies anymore.

Crash and burn Sharon, crash and burn.

There she goes AGAIN attacking Mrs. Whitfield.

Re: Bad Timing.

Would you please just sue the bitch.

Anonymous said...

Wow, I missed alot this week.Just got back from Florida, bought some private beachfront, just kidding. But seriously!Richard Berry running for Council again? Is he that disturbed? Does he have any friends to talk him out of it? He's kind of like those poor souls on American Idol that think they can sing and Simon tells them off. Then they run into the arms of their family, crying.Kind of like Berry running into the fat bosom of Sharon Bowers, when the polls close and he's got only one vote! Sorry folks, I know you can't get that visual out of your heads. But really!!!!

Anonymous said...

Don't sue her yet, there is an election coming soon. She will ultimately help anyone running against her endorsed posse.Give her some time to investigate, you know she has insiders at town haul!lol

Anonymous said...

Don't think I have not thought of that, but have talked to a lawyer and he said that it would cost a lot of money to sue and I would be the only person out of pocket as she has nothing, hard to get money from something that lives off welfare or pension. I was hoping one of the big guys would sue her, like Tim Horton's I do know they are investigating her.

Anonymous said...

It will cost some but not nearly as much as your lawyer thinks. This is not going to the supreme court and capitulation will occur sooner than later. Vague areas of legal research are not involved and if your lawyer thinks it's about getting money from her, he/she's an idiot, and greedy one at that.

Canuck said...

What are you going to do with all your money if not get some satisfaction?

"I wonder if the Whitfields paid Joe Mrozek for his testimony."

I asked:

"Have you called Joe Mrozek to ask him if he was paid, or are you satisfied with making your slanderous statement in the form of a question?"

March 7, 2010 11:41 AM

Blogger The Editor said...

Mrs. Whitfield made the statement on this blog that they received no help from anyone on the town planning staff when they appealed the decision of The Committee of Adjustment of the Town of Fort Erie. That body is appointed to interpret the zoning by-laws. In the case of the Whitfields, their request for a variance was refused. As is their right, they appealed to the OMB. Their case was won on the expert testimony of a town employee. It would seem that the town employee was working at cross-puposes to the town's own Committee of Adjustment. My question has more to do with why Mrs. Whitfield was so adamant that they did not receive help from the town, when, in fact they did. Joe Mroasek even identified himself as a long-time employee of the Town of Fort Erie. What's slanderous about asking a question?

March 7, 2010 12:51 PM

To whit, I followed up, which remains unposted: "So you did not call Mrozek, is that what I'm reading?"

Instead, we are told how accurate Miss Stoop and Poop's Oscar picks were and comments about someone's smelly clothes.

This begs the question, how truthful is the statement "The Crystal Beach Strand has made every reasonable effort to ensure that the information displayed on this website is accurate and responsible." Not very, apparently.

This hones in on the very core of her dishonesty. Honest questions about her own statements are stricken from the record.

By the way, her spell checker is not working again. "cross-puposes", "Mroasek", "sen[d]".

It appears Sharon Bowers only responds to insults. How sad is that?

Anonymous said...

I like these errors and typo's:

"a term that will the opposition will use to hang the town's argument out to dry." WTF is that ????

AND, her most recent post:

"You must sit around in your smelly clothes just waiting for me to port something so that you can quickly sen in a clever rejoinder."

"port" and "sen"

And this from someone who has insulting attacked those who post sensible posts with grammar errors. And from a person who said quote " I believe you can tell a lot about a person by their grammar and spelling."

Another observation is that in the current thread in the Strand, there have been 33 posts. Excluding those from the UnaBlooger only 2 can be interpreted as agreeing with her.

The last time I made this observation, a flurry of posts went up in her support .... gee .... I wonder who posted those ....LOL

Seriously? Are you kidding?

I have lost the fun in this little battle.

She just resorted to calling me Smelly.

What are we, in grade 3? Until she sticks her foot in it again, I just can't be bothered to dignify her antics, other than to simply say:

"If I was a tad odoriferous, I apologize. Couldn't find the damned deodorant before coming, and that many people packed in tightly raised the heat level a tad."

Also, I can resort to the tired old standby, but still relevant today.

I can take a shower, but you're ugly for ever.
