The people she supports are passionate and eloquent. Those she opposes have "temper tantrums." And, let's see, so far she's going to call the cops on someone, call the human rights commission. Who else? Will someone tell their mommy?
The real crime was committed by whoever that idiot immigration official was who gave her landed status. What has she brought to this country? Any wealth to create jobs, any great intellect or valuable skill? - August 1, 2008 at 8:43 PM

It seems someone who doesn't know how to spell "limerick" is a "bozo," says the Unablogger.
What's a person who uses the word "syncophant" repeatedly?
A university-level logician? A writer? A sad and pathetic welfare case with enough income for a phone, high speed internet, a web domain and all the junk food she can mow through?
Pure projection people, pure projection.
P.S. It's sycophant. - August 2, 2008 at 7:48 PM

Thanks for your note. I checked it out. It is rather obsessive, isn't it. I don't know how I found the time -- what with all the crack sessions, drinking binges and prostituting my credibility.
I'd like to see in print these incidents of knavery of which she blathers. I'd also like to remind unablogger that I never cashed that cheque for restitution, figuring at the time it would be worth much more in the future and 15 plus years have now passed.
Barb and Don and Jack -- bless their departed souls -- warned me.
Here's how it went.
Back in 1994 I allowed Sharon the opportunity to write a column for my newspaper The Ridgeway Herald. In exchange, she received free advertising for her thing called SMART -- it sounded like a support group of some type.
I allowed her some latitude from my exacting journalistic standards, but she fucked up a couple of times, and I saved her ass. And then she and her pal started up a faux-Herald with lengthy epistles about me mixed in with a few recipes and other shit. It turns out 15 years later -- in her own words -- that she received a grant from the Freeland Foundation to start this "positive newspaper." When EJ's money ran out, that was it. While mine ticked on until I retired a couple years later to get real work.
For the first editions of the faux-Herald, they passed themselves as agents for me, tried to sell advertising in that manner, and in the end ultimately resorted to taking money deposited in jars by my readers. To whit: the resititution cheque -- unopened with fingerprints, DNA and everything.
That's the start and the end of the beginning.
Sharon has mentioned a couple other incidents that I'd be willing to address and a couple she hasn't mentioned, but right now there's a big bottle of gin, a pipe full of crack and a Deep Throat waiting for me.
So Sharon, go fuck yourself. - August 2, 2008 at 10:40 PM

While I'm here, I suggest you start a thread about Bay Beach. This issue needs some intelligent discourse.
I'll start it off. First we have to understand what a public-private partnership is. Basically, a public agency allows a private entity to finance and operate a business venture using public assets that remain publicly owned.
The partnership builds something and the private corporation runs it for profit.
I just want to start there to make sure everyone is on the same page with the facts. - August 2, 2008 at 10:51 PM

I was told it was an informal name for a neighborhood west of Elmwood and likely came from a name given to a plan of subdivision back when they were chopping down trees and dividing up the land to sell to rich and idle middle class Americans. Like the Marines, they took the beach first, moved inland and now tell us what to do, i.e. the Unablogger.

Bay Beach was the official name of the first land subdivision located west of the former "Village of Crystal Beach", which existed as an entity unto itself until amalgamation with the Town of Fort Erie in 1970. As it was outside of "Crystal Beach proper", it continued to be known as "Bay Beach" by the residents of the area, a distinction which continues to this day. The private beach purchased by the Town in 2001 was known as "Bay Beach" since at least 1910, and therefore this name continues to be used by locals. I wouldn't personally be opposed to dropping it altogether and referring to the entire stretch of public beach (and the neighbourhood) as simply "Crystal Beach". But history shows us that these things can't really be forced on people...they will continue to call it what they will. Point in fact, locals never call the Crystal Beach area "Fort Erie", even though its been part of Fort Erie for 38 years now....Just my 2-cents...

All I ever hear from the Unablogger is how Town Hall is corrupt. Town staff are corrupt. The Mayor and certain Councillors are corrupt. How plans are in the works to uncover all the lies. how the Town is bankrupt. How all the media outlets all over the country are secretly poised to pounce on the Town of Fort Erie and uncover the greatest scandal since Nixon's impeachment. Well, I have waited and waited and still unabloggers army of winged little monkeys has failed to deliver on any of her insane, drug induced predictions. But I will continue to wait. I will wait because the laws of probability tell us she can't possibly be wrong 100% of the time, can she? Well it seems the simple answer is yes. We are dealing with a freak of nature, an abomination. A mind lacking the proper firing sequences of the appropriate synapses. In simple terms, the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top. In her case it would be lucky to get out of the basement. But you go on unablogger. You keep making your predictions and giving your honest opinions. You keep doing what it is you do. After all, the world needs a bit of laughter.
